Sunday Morning Bible Study Meets between services on Sunday mornings for member-led group scripture study.
Just Breathe A contemplative practice for all who wish to attend. Usually held on Wednesday evenings for 30 to 45 minutes.
Tuesday Morning Bible Study Held on Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. we gather around coffee and goodies to read and share the implications of The Word in our daily lives. Members lead the discussion. We welcome you to join us!
Sunday Fellowship Coffee Hour Following the late service, all are welcome to gather in the fellowship room to socialize and enjoy food and refreshments provided by various members and groups at Good Shepherd on an alternating, volunteer basis. Four generations of friends and families get together and share stories and friendship.
Adult Learning Opportunities Your chance to explore the Bible and its message for your life, we periodically hold classes that focus on particular books of the Bible or other topics.
Men's Breakfast Good food, good conversation...a great opportunity for men to gather in a spiritually supportive and fun environment! All are welcome. The Men's Breakfast group meets twice a month at Good Shepherd to enjoy a meal prepared by one of the men, discuss current events and church happenings, and make time for prayer. Free will donations support good causes. In 2017, the men donated funds to the following organizations:
- Capital Area Council of Churches Emergency Overflow Shelter
- ELCA Lutheran Disaster Response
- Albany Maritime Ministry
- Friends of the William K. Sanford Town Library
- Capital City Rescue Mission
New Member Gatherings Held periodically for those interested in becoming members of Good Shepherd. An opportunity to learn more about Christianity, what Lutherans believe, and life at Good Shepherd. If you would like more information about becoming a new member, please contact Pastor Edwina Landry.
Senior Shepherds Fellowship, fun and spirited sharing for "Young at Heart" senior adults. Activities are varied and reflect the interests of participants. Enjoy guest speakers, day trips to theaters and museums, craft workshops to benefit the community and volunteer work for community and social service groups.
Book Discussion Group It’s fun to read. And even more fun to talk about what we read, as we've done for 14+ years! This group meets monthly to share their reactions to the latest selection.
